Gary here: When did it start? That love of photography has been with me a long time. I always wanted a decent camera, but couldn't afford one until Uncle Sam sent me overseas after I joined the Navy. I was sent to a ship that was home ported in Yokosuka Japan. this was in 1966. I had joined the year before but was sent to Mississippi to wait for a slot in ET-school "Electronics". So there I was in Japan and prices for cameras were reasonable since I could buy one with no sales tax and duty free since I had been to the combat zone "Viet Nam". Next thing you know I was the proud owner of a 35mm Minolta SRT-101. It served me well over the years, although I was strictly an amateur.
Pat here: I was brought up in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. My father built our house on the shores of the St. Mary's river. I watched the giant ore ships pass the house every day and learned water skiing and ice skating as a youngster. After high school I moved to a suburb of Detroit and studied to become an RN and later worked in ICU in a large hospital.
Gary here: I worked for RCA, and got transferred to Michigan where I met Pat, and later I got transferred back to Illinois. I bought a house on a chain of lakes N/W of Chicago and Pat joined me about a year later. We got married on my old Chris-Craft cabin cruiser and we enjoyed the lake life. Later we moved to another house on the same lake and it was overlooking a marsh. The sunsets were epic and I started posting them to my Facebook page and everybody loved them.
Pat here: We decided to start a photography business and I got interested in photography as well, so we started going on photo shoots together and it was awesome. I got a camera with a terrific zoom lens and we became a real good team. If one couldn't get the shot the other one would.
